Figured I'd post this here, since this is the dev's hangout 

Did the fixes with custom gui for Dovvetech, ran into the black text issue, did that fix, all back to normal

thru all this, I was using AOCrayon 6 to reload the custom colors. In or out of game updates, no changes to the colors.

Figured I'd pass it on as it seems the save option isn't working and even went so far as to manually change the colors, both on default gui and custom gui settings and it's not hooking in

Any feedback is welcome

Are you getting black text in AO, or in AOcrayon?
If in AOcrayon; have you selected the correct AO path, and then the correct GUI (the same you use in AO)? And then either restarted or hit Reload?
And when you hit save, have you then reloaded colors in AO, or relogged?

took a few hours of trial and error just to get the colors working again, but now, when I modify them in aocrayon, they aren't making the changes I've committed to the xml

Even went so far as to modify the xml itself directly and even though, no color change.

Messed with this some more tonight
for anyone using custom guis, do your changes in ao crayon, then hit the reload menu button a few times, it eventually will take.
